A Survey Invitation

Dear KPFT or KOOP listener,

My name is Lei Guo, and I am a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Journalism, The University of Texas at Austin. I would like to invite you to participate in a quick survey for my Ph.D. dissertation, a study of the community radio audience in Texas.

I myself am also a community radio programmer. I have been working on an East Asian radio show called Chop Suey at KOOP community radio station (91.7FM, Austin) for almost five years, and thus truly understand the importance of community radio’s role in promoting diverse viewpoints in a society. Therefore, I decided to devote my Ph.D. dissertation to exploring why people listen to community radio, and how they interact with their radio programmers.

As a KPFT or KOOP listener, your input is very important to my research project; it will also help KPFT or KOOP programmers to better understand their audiences. All of your answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be used for research purposes only.

The survey will take about 5-10 minutes to complete. Taking part in this survey is completely voluntary.  You may withdraw or terminate participation in the survey at any time.

As a token of our appreciation for your time, participants who complete the survey will have an option of entering a drawing for one of the five $10 gift cards for each show.

If you have any questions about the survey or about my research, please feel free to email me at guolei@utexas.edu
